Marella Cruises has revealed details of four new onboard venues that will be introduced on Marella Discovery 2 as the vessel transitions into the company's second adults-only ship in early 2027. The facilities will replace existing children's areas and are intended to expand the ship's entertainment and leisure offerings.

The new venues will include Amplify Karaoke, the cruise line's first dedicated karaoke room, accommodating groups of up to seven guests; The Lost Luggage Bureau, a speakeasy-style bar featuring live music, performances and interactive storytelling; and Red Handed Escape Room, a 1920s-themed experience in which teams will solve puzzles within a 60-minute challenge.

The fourth venue, The Loft, will combine a library, board games and organised arts-and-crafts activities, including jewellery making, watercolour painting and macramé. It will remain open 24 hours a day and be included in the ship's all-inclusive offering.

Three of the four venues will carry additional charges. Amplify Karaoke will cost from GBP 14.95 per room per hour, Red Handed Escape Room GBP 16.95 per person and The Lost Luggage Bureau GBP 19.95 per person, including three signature cocktails. The Loft will be available at no extra cost.

The ship's existing climbing wall will also undergo modernisation, with additional hold sizes and a design reflecting contemporary climbing facilities and Olympic-standard walls.

The investment follows strong demand for adults-only cruising. According to Marella Cruises' customer research, 80% of passengers who previously sailed aboard Marella Explorer 2, the company's existing adults-only vessel, identified its child-free status as a reason for booking. Almost three-quarters of those surveyed considered it important for the cruise line to operate an adults-only ship.

Marella Discovery 2 is scheduled to operate Canary Islands itineraries from Tenerife and Gran Canaria between November 2027 and March 2028, before relocating to Malaga until April 2028.
