TUI Cruises has cancelled another voyage aboard Mein Schiff 3 as repairs following the vessel’s collision with two container ships continue to take longer than initially expected. The affected 14-night Norway cruise was scheduled to depart from Bremerhaven, Germany, on November 14th and return on November 28th, 2026.
The vessel has been at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven since November 1st, where a detailed assessment of the damage and the necessary repair work are being carried out. According to the cruise line, the scope of the work has increased the time required to prepare the ship for its return to service.
The incident occurred on October 25th, when Mein Schiff 3 collided with two container ships while departing Bremerhaven. Strong winds reportedly pushed the cruise ship towards the vessels despite assistance from tugboats. At the time, the ship was preparing to begin a 20-day Canary Islands cruise with 2,428 passengers and 922 crew members on board.
The collision damaged several lifeboats, their launching equipment and sections of the ship's hull. One of the container ships also sustained significant damage. No injuries were reported, and there was no water ingress on the affected vessels.
Following an initial inspection, TUI Cruises cancelled the planned Canary Islands voyage on October 26th, marking the first disruption caused by the incident. The cancellation of the Norway itinerary represents the second consecutive sailing affected by the repair schedule.
TUI Cruises currently expects Mein Schiff 3 to resume regular operations on November 28th, 2026. However, the date remains subject to the progress of the repair work, and the company has indicated that passengers and travel partners will be informed if further schedule changes become necessary.
