VIDEO: Actress Cassidy Gifford to serve as Godmother of Carnival Celebration cruise ship

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line announced that actress Cassidy Gifford would serve as godmother to the line's newest ship, Carnival Celebration, at the official naming ceremony taking place on November 20, 2022, in PortMiami Florida.

In a video released by Carnival, she was surprised with the news by her mother Kathie Lee Gifford, Godmother to ms Celebration, Carnival Celebration’s namesake, christened back in 1987. Her mother served as the company’s spokesperson in the TV campaigns going back to the 1980s, which were the first of this type of network broadcasting advertisements for the industry. Kathie Lee is also a 4-time Emmy Award-winning TV personality.

Cassidy started sailing on CCL ships as an infant and has memories of vacationing with her mother and her father, late Frank Gifford, an NFL/sports broadcasting legend. She has been acting from a young age and is popular for her work in the box office hits "God’s Not Dead" and "The Gallows". She won the prize for Exceptional Emerging Artist at the Hollywood Film Festival in 2018. 

Carnival Celebration will be the company’s ultimate 50th Birthday gift when she debuts in November from PortMiami's redesigned Terminal F. Celebration has to 18 decks, 2641 staterooms, 6 themed zones/neighborhoods and CCL’s second BOLT roller coaster.
