MSC Cruises, renowned as the world's third-largest cruise line, has revealed its plans for the prestigious naming ceremony of its latest flagship, MSC World America. Scheduled for the evening of April 9, 2025, this grand event will take place at the company's newly constructed PortMiami terminal.

The ceremony symbolizes MSC's substantial investment in Miami and the company's unwavering dedication to the North American market. Traditional maritime customs, including the ceremonial breaking of a champagne bottle, will mark the occasion, alongside a lineup of captivating onboard activities that showcase the essence of Miami aboard its newest megaship.

Distinguished guests partaking in the ceremony will embark on an inaugural voyage that promises to unveil a new realm of cruising experiences. This celebratory journey will include a stop at MSC's private island Ocean Cay Bahamas. Here, guests will delight in the island's distinctive evening lighthouse show and beach festivities, extending into the following day for a full immersion in its scenic offerings. Subsequently, passengers will indulge in a day at sea, exploring numerous exclusive amenities and activities on board.

MSC World America, a remarkable addition to MSC's fleet, represents the largest vessel tailored for the USA market and the first in the region to operate on LNG fuel. As the second vessel in the innovative World Class series, she boasts a design tailored to North American preferences, seamlessly blending European elegance with American comforts. Spanning 22 decks/16 passenger-accessible and with 2614 staterooms, MSC World America promises to dominate the Miami skyline upon its naming in 2025.

The unveiling of MSC World America at the new PortMiami terminal, alongside the forthcoming establishment of MSC's USD 100 million headquarters in downtown Miami, underscores the company's steadfast commitment to South Florida. Upon completion, the PortMiami terminal will stand as the world's largest, poised to redefine the cruising experience for thousands of guests daily, supporting MSC's ongoing expansion in the Caribbean.

Following the naming ceremony, MSC World America will embark on its inaugural season on April 12th (2025). She will traverse alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, encompassing destinations such as Puerto Plata Dominicana; San Juan Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel; Isla Roatan Honduras; and Ocean Cay Bahamas.
