Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida USA) welcomed NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line's latest vessel, Norwegian Aqua, marking the commencement of her inaugural season of week-long Caribbean and Bahamian cruises. This addition to the port's lineup underscores the ongoing expansion of cruise offerings in the region.

Norwegian Aqua, the first ship in the Prima-Plus class, measures 1,056 feet (322 m) in length and can accommodate up to 3,571 guests at double occupancy. The vessel is designed to provide an enhanced cruising experience, featuring expansive outdoor spaces and unobstructed ocean views. Notable amenities include the Aqua Slidecoaster, Infinity Beach, and the Oceanwalk glass bridge, all aimed at offering guests a variety of leisure and entertainment options.

The ship's itineraries from Port Canaveral include destinations such as Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay. These voyages are scheduled to continue through August 2025, after which Norwegian Aqua will reposition to New York City for a series of 5- and 7-day cruises to Bermuda. Subsequently, the vessel is slated to operate 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami between October 2025 and April 2026.

Port Canaveral's CEO, Capt. John Murray, has indicated that the port's infrastructure and accessibility make it an ideal homeport for Norwegian Aqua, particularly given the increasing number of guests opting to drive to the port. The partnership between Port Canaveral and Norwegian Cruise Line is expected to enhance the cruise experience for passengers and contribute to the port's status as a leading cruise hub.
