Azamara unveils year-round Alaskan Cruisetours with midnight-sun experience

For 2026, Azamara Cruises will introduce a new series of Cruisetours, crafted to immerse passengers more fully in the landscapes of Alaska and Western Canada than a conventional voyage permits. These curated land programs, offered before or after the sea journey, extend the experience beyond coastal stops into scenic and cultural inland excursions. Their aim is to provide a holistic encounter with rugged terrain, wildlife, and local heritage.

In June 2026, the Azamara Pursuit will sail through Alaska during the solstice period, ensuring almost continuous daylight. The scheduling was chosen specifically for the midnight sun phenomenon, granting extended hours of natural light and a rare opportunity to observe this northern marvel.

The Cruisetour itineraries intertwine small-ship voyages with overland journeys, including rail travel against the backdrop of Alaskan and Canadian wilderness. Guests will traverse ancient forests, glacial valleys, and alpine lakes, guided by specialists who introduce them to local cultures, wildlife, and history.

A flagship voyage departing June 11 offers a 16-night itinerary. It begins with an Alaskan cruise to Hubbard Glacier and Juneau, followed by a post-cruise land segment through Banff National Park, Lake Louise, and Moraine Lake—landscapes of turquoise water and towering peaks.

Another variant, also starting June 11, combines a 13-night cruise with a post-visit to Whistler and Vancouver, including wildlife viewing by Land Rover and an exploration of Vancouver’s diverse neighborhoods and scenic sites.

An alternate itinerary, departing June 16 for 16 nights, leads travelers through Juneau and Haines before venturing into the Canadian Rockies. The land portion includes hikes in Banff National Park and excursions to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, concluding with a sojourn in Whistler. A shorter 12-night itinerary, beginning June 20, replicates this but with a more compact schedule that still includes glacier viewing and Vancouver highlights such as Stanley Park and its waterfront.

Azamara’s strategy for 2026 integrates extended port calls of 10 or more hours, exclusive cultural events such as the Alaskan Lumberjack Show, and overland experiences like scenic rail travel, wildlife observation, and farm visits.
