Princess Cruises announces largest-ever Alaska deployment for 2027

Princess Cruises has detailed its most extensive Alaska cruise and cruisetour programme to date, scheduled for the 2027 season. Drawing on almost six decades of operational experience in the region, the line will position eight ships across multiple itineraries and offer accommodation at five of its own wilderness lodges. The season will open for bookings on August 12, 2025.

The company confirmed that Star Princess, a Sphere Class vessel returning for her second Alaska season and the first of her class to operate in the region, will sail weekly 7-day Inside Passage cruises roundtrip from Seattle. Across the season, Princess will operate 187 departures covering 17 itineraries from Seattle, Vancouver (B.C.), Anchorage (Whittier), San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Chief Commercial Officer Terry Thornton explained that the programme had been designed to increase passenger access to glaciers, wildlife, and local cultural experiences, both ashore and on board. He said that the aim was to bring travellers closer to the “soul of the Great Land” through a combination of scenic cruising, port visits, and integrated land options.

The 2027 deployment will include four glacier-viewing destinations — Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord, and Endicott Arm with Dawes Glacier — and 85 calls to Glacier Bay alone. This includes every Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary between Anchorage and Vancouver, as well as 14-day Grand Adventure voyages roundtrip from Vancouver.

In addition to the Inside Passage sailings from multiple homeports, extended itineraries will also be available, including 9-, 10-, and 16-day voyages. Land extensions will be offered through 28 different cruisetour combinations, featuring rail connections and stays at Princess-owned lodges near Denali, Kenai Fjords, and Wrangell–St. Elias National Parks. These include the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, offering mountain views, and the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, located one mile from the park entrance. The longest cruisetour — 17 nights — will include two nights at each of the five Princess lodges and visits to up to four national parks.

Princess Cruises, which has been sailing to Alaska since 1969 and has been voted “Best Cruise Line in Alaska” 21 times by Travel Weekly, reports that more passengers choose its Alaska programme than any other operator. The company noted that early booking incentives and fare reductions will be available on select sailings for the 2027 season.
