A powerful storm over the coast of Bahia has delayed the docking of the MSC Preziosa at the Port of Salvador de Bahia (Brazil). The vessel, on a 20-day transatlantic repositioning voyage from Hamburg to Rio de Janeiro, was originally scheduled to berth on Tuesday morning, October 21st, but was prevented from doing so due to weather conditions.
The harbour authority reported that the storm, which commenced early Monday, rendered docking manoeuvres unfeasible. MSC Cruises confirmed that the ship is now expected to dock at about 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd, subject to weather clearance. Correspondence with affected passengers is ongoing.
Following the stop in Salvador, the voyage—including subsequent ports such as Ilhéus—will continue along the Bahian coast. MSC Cruises noted that all itineraries remain subject to change in response to safety and meteorological factors.
