The Scenic Ikon has been formally announced by Scenic Group as its next ultra-luxury expedition yacht, scheduled for its inaugural debut in April 2028.

The 205-metre vessel will accommodate up to 270 guests across 135 all-veranda suites that range in size from 34 to 250 square metres.

Constructed by the Group’s in-house shipbuilding division, the ship will carry a Polar Code 6 rating and Ice Class 1A Super strengthened hull—capable of operating in both polar and warm-water environments. Equipment includes two Airbus helicopters, a custom-designed Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs and superyacht tender craft.

The vessel will feature fifteen distinct dining venues, extensive lounges and social spaces, plus a two-level spa and wellness facility of approximately 1,700 m². The maiden season will call at 110 ports in 21 countries and introduce 26 destinations new to the line. Delivery is scheduled for late 2027 ahead of the April 2028 maiden voyage from Venice.

Scenic Group’s chairman stated that the ship has been optimized in every respect to deliver “unrivalled experiences” across diverse destinations—from the Mediterranean’s cultural centres to the remote landscapes of Antarctica.

With the launch of Scenic Ikon, the ship-operator intends to raise its standard of luxury expedition cruising and provide a vessel that combines refined accommodation with advanced discovery-capable gear for immersive travel. The build-up to its arrival reinforces the company’s aim to cater to a segment of travellers seeking high-end, all-inclusive experiences in remote and marquee locations.
