PhilaPort has begun construction on the future PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, a facility planned on a 16-acre site adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport. Scheduled for completion in April 2026, the terminal is intended to serve as a major gateway for cruise travel in the region.

The project has been developed in partnership with Energy Transfer and Norwegian Cruise Line, reflecting a shared confidence in Philadelphia’s potential as a cruise hub. Norwegian Cruise Line plans to operate seasonal sailings to Bermuda and other destinations during the terminal’s first year of operation.

The development is expected to generate 2,185 new direct and indirect jobs and contribute approximately $300 million in economic output for Pennsylvania. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings will serve as Philadelphia’s exclusive homeport from April 2026 through March 2033, committing to 41 sailings annually.

The terminal is designed to expand access to cruise experiences while leveraging Philadelphia’s historical and cultural significance. It represents a strategic investment in regional tourism and cruise infrastructure, offering passengers the convenience of city-based embarkation combined with connectivity to international destinations.
