Silversea Cruises’ Silver Muse has re-entered service after completing an extensive refit and refurbishment at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy. The project has resulted in an increase in passenger capacity and a number of structural and operational modifications across the vessel.
The works included the installation of additional berths, raising the ship’s capacity by approximately 7% to a total of 632 guests. This increase was achieved by reconfiguring accommodation on Decks 9, 10 and 11, where several larger suites were replaced with a greater number of smaller staterooms. On Deck 9, six Silver Suites were removed and replaced with 12 new staterooms spanning multiple categories.
Among the most notable changes is the introduction of the S.A.L.T. dining concept. Located on Deck 4, the new venue replaces the former Indochine Asian specialty restaurant and offers menus influenced by the destinations visited, supported by a bar featuring regionally themed beverages and wines. To accommodate new technical spaces, the ship’s main dining room, La Dolce Vita, was reduced in size as part of the same refit programme.
Delivered in 2017, Silver Muse is the lead vessel in Silversea’s Muse-class, which also includes Silver Moon and Silver Dawn. This marks the ship’s first major refit since entering service and represents a significant update to its onboard layout and facilities. In addition to the accommodation and dining changes, the drydock period included routine maintenance, class surveys and other scheduled technical work.
Following completion of the refit, Silver Muse resumed operations with a 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise departing from Civitavecchia. The itinerary included calls at Valencia, Barcelona, Genoa and Marseille. The vessel subsequently repositioned to operate voyages between Barcelona and Lisbon, including a holiday itinerary encompassing the Canary Islands, Iberia and Morocco. This 14-night sailing featured a planned call at Funchal on December 31st, 2025, timed to coincide with the port’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display.
After concluding its current deployments in Europe and the Atlantic islands, Silver Muse is scheduled to continue its winter programme in the Mediterranean.
