NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has taken delivery of Norwegian Luna, the 21st vessel in the NCL's fleet and the second ship in the Prima Plus class, following completion at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera/Venice, Italy.

The vessel has a gross tonnage of approximately 156,000 and accommodates 3,565 passengers across 1,809 staterooms. As an expanded development of the Prima-class design introduced earlier in the decade, Norwegian Luna incorporates additional public areas, entertainment venues and dining facilities intended to broaden the onboard offering.

NCL's President Marc Kazlauskas stated that the company welcomed the addition of the vessel to its fleet and was preparing to receive its first guests shortly after delivery. He indicated that the ship reflected the company’s “It’s Different Out Here” brand concept by offering passengers a combination of flexibility, varied onboard experiences and a wide range of options designed to allow guests to shape their holidays according to personal preference.

Public spaces aboard the ship include several entertainment and recreation areas. Among the attractions is the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid installation combining elements of a waterslide and rollercoaster. Other outdoor facilities include Luna Midway, an amusement-style area with carnival-inspired games, and Moon Climber, an obstacle course designed for both adults and children.

Indoor activity spaces include the Luna Game Zone, which integrates arcade gaming with virtual-reality experiences. The Glow Court has been designed as a multifunctional venue with an LED floor capable of serving as a sports court during daytime hours and converting into a nightlife and entertainment space in the evening.

Entertainment programming on board includes new stage productions such as Elton: A Celebration of Elton John™ and HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder™, a multimedia performance combining acrobatics, digital design elements and dance. The live-music venue Syd Norman’s Pour House will also present a production built around the music of the Eagles.

Dining facilities on Norwegian Luna comprise 17 venues alongside 18 bars and lounges. Options include main dining rooms with rotating menus, a 24-hour casual restaurant and the Indulge Food Hall, which brings together several stations serving international cuisine. Specialty restaurants include Le Bistro, the company’s French dining concept, and Sukhothai, a Thai venue focused on regional dishes.

Accommodation ranges from inside and ocean-view staterooms to balcony cabins and suites. The Haven by Norwegian, the line’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship suite complex, provides private accommodations along with a dedicated restaurant, lounge areas, concierge services and butler service.

Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division at Fincantieri, indicated that the delivery represented another stage in the long-standing collaboration between the shipbuilder and Norwegian Cruise Line. He noted that the project demonstrated the company’s capacity to respond to evolving trends within the global cruise sector.

Following delivery in Italy, Norwegian Luna will undertake a transatlantic crossing before arriving in Miami on March 23rd, 2026. The vessel is scheduled to be officially christened on March 27th at PortMiami.
