MSC World Asia introduces expanded family entertainment concept

MSC Cruises has outlined a series of new onboard features for its forthcoming vessel, MSC World Asia, scheduled to enter service in the winter of 2026, with a particular emphasis on family-oriented entertainment.

Central to the vessel’s design is the Family Aventura District, conceived as a dedicated zone intended to concentrate multi-generational activities within a single area. The space incorporates several venues, including the Doremiland children’s club, The Clubhouse, and The Harbour, an open-air complex arranged as a theme park environment with both daytime attractions and extended evening programming.

The Harbour draws thematic influence from major Asian urban centres and is configured to accommodate a wide range of activities. Installations include an elevated rope course known as the Adventure Trail, a dry slide described as the longest of its kind at sea, and an over-water swing installation referred to as Cliffhanger. Additional facilities include The Play Deck, designed for younger passengers. After dusk, the area is intended to transition into an illuminated outdoor venue with programmed activities.

The Clubhouse is planned as a flexible indoor venue combining recreation and organised programming. Facilities include a LEGO-themed family zone, roller skating, bumper cars, and structured sports and wellness sessions. The space will also host established branded activities such as Guinness World Records challenges, MasterChef at Sea Juniors, and the Doremix Family Disco, alongside a new competitive format identified as Out of Control, in which participants engage in timed physical challenges.

Doremiland occupies approximately 10,000 square feet on an upper deck and is divided into age-specific sections, including a Baby Club developed in cooperation with Chicco, as well as dedicated junior and teen areas equipped with digital gaming facilities and a Formula-style racing simulator.

Elsewhere on board, Luna Park is configured as a multifunctional entertainment venue designed to host interactive game shows, with the deck capable of being reconfigured into a participatory environment for guests.

A senior representative for family entertainment development indicated that the design approach for the vessel focused on expanding creative concepts and integrating a wide range of interactive elements, with the intention of delivering varied and engaging onboard experiences.

Upon entry into service, MSC World Asia is scheduled to operate 7-night itineraries in the Mediterranean.
