RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced an extensive stateroom enhancements for its Explorer Class ships. The project will introduce larger suites, add a new cabin category and reduce overall passenger capacity to further strengthen Regent's ultra-luxury market positioning.
Following scheduled drydocks in 2027 and 2028, the vessels Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor and Seven Seas Grandeur will each carry a maximum of 344 staterooms, down from the current 373. From each ship, 29 suites will be removed to create more spacious accommodations and increase the amount of personal space available to guests.
As part of the refurbishments, the Veranda Suites will be enlarged, creating some of the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury cruise sector, alongside the Deluxe Veranda Suites introduced on the new Prestige Class ships. The redesigned Veranda Suites will increase in size from the current 305 ft2 to 415-465 ft2. They will feature walk-in wardrobes, double vanities and larger outside balconies.
Regent stated that the refurbishment reflects its long-term strategy of continually enhancing the onboard experience by increasing accommodation space, introducing new suite categories and maintaining the high service standards associated with the brand.
The project will also introduce the Horizon Penthouse Suite category to the Explorer Class fleet.
First unveiled on the 2026-built Seven Seas Prestige, the new cabin category will range from 615 to 720 ft2 and will feature oversized balconies, separate living areas, spacious bedrooms and full bathrooms.
In addition, each ship will receive 3 new signature accommodations measuring between 820-920 ft2. Named the Explorer Suite, Splendor Suite and Grandeur Suite respectively, these premium suites will include King-size Elite Slumber beds, separate sitting and dining areas, one-and-a-half marble-appointed bathrooms, expansive private balconies and a range of luxury amenities, including in-suite caviar service, cashmere blankets, fresh orchid arrangements, a choice of pillows and dedicated butler service.
The refurbishment programme will begin with Seven Seas Splendor, which is scheduled for drydocking in November 2027. Seven Seas Explorer will follow in April 2028, while Seven Seas Grandeur will be refurbished in October 2028.
