Disney Adventure cruise from Singapore canceled due to propulsion issues

Due to technical difficulties, MS Disney Adventure's 4-night cruise-to-nowhere itinerary round-trip from Singapore's Marina Bay terminal was canceled.

The voyage was scheduled to depart on May 7th, but shortly after embarkation, the ship remained berthed as the Navigation Bridge team informed guests of propulsion-related problems.

Passengers stayed on board overnight while engineering crews and technical specialists continued inspections and repair assessments.

By the morning of May 8th, guests were informed that the voyage would not proceed and that disembarkation arrangements were being put into effect.

According to accounts shared by passengers, the Master (Captain Nicholas Pagonis) indicated that the issue may have involved the ABB Azipod propulsion system. No detailed technical confirmation was issued publicly by Disney Cruise Line/DCL.

DCL arranged compensation measures for affected guests, including full refunds for the canceled sailing, an FCC/future cruise credit equal to 50% of the fare, overnight hotel accommodation, and reimbursement of additional expenses up to US$500.

Reports from passengers described a prolonged wait before the final cancellation announcement was delivered. A message circulated by a representative connected with the ship’s operations expressed regret for the disruption and acknowledged the patience shown by guests during the delay. The statement noted that engineering teams and crew members had worked continuously behind the scenes trying to resolve the issue while maintaining operational safety standards.
