DCL-Disney Cruise Line has revised the schedule for its next generation of vessels, bringing forward the introduction of two ships and moving the planned completion of its 13-ship fleet from 2031 to the end of 2030. The updated timeline was outlined in The Walt Disney Company’s third-quarter fiscal 2026 results.
The fourth Wish-class vessel, Disney Believe, remains scheduled to enter service in late 2027. Disney has also confirmed that the ship will be presented publicly in October 2026.
The fifth Wish-class ship, which will be owned and operated by Oriental Land Company under the agreement covering Disney-branded cruises from Japan, remains on schedule for 2029.
The principal change concerns ships 11, 12 and 13, which will form a new class positioned between the existing Magic-class and Dream-class vessels in size. Under the original programme announced in 2024, the three newbuilds were scheduled for delivery in 2029, 2030 and 2031 respectively.
The revised schedule brings ship 12 forward to late 2029, meaning that three Disney-branded ships are now expected to enter service during that year: ship 11 (Oriental Land Company-branded, Japan-based) and ship 12. Ship 13 will subsequently enter service in late 2030.
If the schedule remains unchanged, all 13 vessels in the expanded fleet will therefore be operational by the end of 2030.
The three smaller ships have not yet received names. Disney previously described the new class as comprising vessels of approximately 100,000 gross tons with capacity for around 3,000 passengers, placing them between DCL's smaller Magic-class ships and the larger Dream- and Wish-class units.
The accelerated programme follows a period of rapid fleet expansion. Disney Adventure entered service in Southeast Asia in March 2026, while Disney Destiny joined the fleet in late 2025.
Disney originally announced in August 2024 that four additional vessels would expand the fleet from five ships at the time to 13 by 2031. The company has since continued to describe cruise operations as a major area of growth within Disney Experiences, with the expanded fleet intended to extend the brand's presence into additional markets and departure regions.
