Seabourn Sojourn concludes Seabourn service ahead of Mitsui Ocean Cruises transfer

Seabourn Sojourn has completed her final revenue season under Seabourn Cruise Line, closing out a charter arrangement. Later this month, the vessel will be formally transferred to Mitsui Ocean Cruises, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), starting operations for Mitsui (as Mitsui Ocean Sakura) in September 2026.

Mitsui Ocean Cruises acquired the ship in early 2025. Subsequently, they chartered back to Seabourn, allowing the operator to continue scheduled deployments through the conclusion of the ship's world cruise in mid-May 2026. During this period, Seabourn retained operational control while the new owner (MOL) prepared for her future integration into the Japanese market, which Seabourn has described as outside its competitive deployment sphere.

With the completion of her final sailing, Sojourn now transitions into the handover phase ahead of the redeployment under Mitsui Ocean Cruises branding.

Sojourn follows Seabourn Odyssey/now Mitsui Ocean Fuji in moving into the Japanese operator’s fleet, where she has already been positioned for adaptation and service under a new identity.

The arrangement marks the end of Seabourn’s long-term use of Sojourn, while also reflecting the broader redistribution of tonnage within the luxury cruise sector as vessels shift between operators and regional markets.
