Seabourn Sojourn concludes Seabourn service ahead of Mitsui Ocean Cruises transfer

Seabourn Sojourn has completed her final operational season under Seabourn Cruise Line, closing out a charter arrangement that will see the vessel formally transferred to Mitsui Ocean Cruises, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, following delivery in 2026.

The ship was acquired by Mitsui Ocean Cruises in early 2025 and subsequently chartered back to Seabourn, allowing the operator to continue scheduled deployments through the conclusion of the vessel’s world cruise in mid-May 2026. During this period, Seabourn retained operational control while the new owner prepared for her future integration into the Japanese market, which Seabourn has described as outside its competitive deployment sphere.

With the completion of her final sailing, Sojourn now transitions into the handover phase ahead of her redeployment under Mitsui Ocean Cruises branding. The vessel follows Seabourn Odyssey in moving into the Japanese operator’s fleet, where she has already been positioned for adaptation and service under a new identity.

The arrangement marks the end of Seabourn’s long-term use of Sojourn within its fleet structure, while also reflecting the broader redistribution of tonnage within the luxury cruise sector as vessels shift between operators and regional markets.
