DCL-Disney Cruise Line has been awarded the 2025 Blue Circle Award by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, marking another year of recognition for its participation in the Port of Vancouver’s voluntary EcoAction Program and its continued focus on environmentally responsible operations.

The Blue Circle Award is presented to shipping and cruise operators that demonstrate environmental leadership through measures aimed at reducing emissions and minimizing operational impacts. The latest recognition marks the 13th time Disney Cruise Line has received the award, reflecting its ongoing compliance with environmental performance standards established by the port authority.

A key element of the company’s environmental strategy in Vancouver remains the use of shore power. When infrastructure is available, ships connect to the port’s electrical grid while alongside, allowing onboard engines to be shut down and significantly reducing emissions during port calls.

The 2025 Alaska season also marks the first time that both the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic are operating from Vancouver. The deployment expands Disney Cruise Line’s presence in the region while maintaining its emphasis on the use of shoreside power and other sustainability measures during port operations.

The recognition follows further acknowledgement of the company’s broader environmental and social responsibility efforts. Disney Cruise Line was recently ranked seventh on the 2026 Forbes Best Brands for Social Impact list, highlighting its continued focus on sustainability and responsible business practices.

The award comes during a period of significant fleet growth for the company. Disney Cruise Line currently operates 8 ships and plans to expand to 13 vessels by 2031, including the introduction of the Disney Believe, which is scheduled to enter service next year.
