Hapag-Lloyd Cruises expands personalised Golf Programme for 2027 & 2028

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has unveiled an enhanced Golf & Cruise programme for 2027 and 2028, further developing a concept that has been part of its luxury cruise portfolio for more than 25 years. The programme combines access to internationally recognised golf courses with the onboard comfort of the luxury ships EUROPA and EUROPA 2, while placing greater emphasis on personalised experiences tailored to individual guests and their level of play.

The Golf & Cruise concept is available on selected themed voyages accompanied by PGA professionals, allowing guests to play on renowned courses around the world while receiving coaching both ashore and onboard. Destinations range from coastal fairways and tropical rainforest courses to championship layouts, with training supported by onboard golf simulators, video swing analysis and year-round instruction from PGA-qualified professionals.

In addition to the dedicated Golf & Cruise sailings, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises now offers flexible golf packages on all EUROPA and EUROPA 2 voyages. These options include introductory lessons for beginners, structured coaching programmes for players wishing to improve their technique and bespoke golf arrangements that can incorporate tee-time reservations, equipment logistics, transfers and optional on-course instruction. Small-group golf excursions led by the onboard PGA professional are also available during selected port calls.

The standard Golf & Cruise package includes PGA professional support throughout the voyage, green fees, driving-range warm-up sessions, transfers, golf carts or trolleys where available, technical presentations, training sessions with video analysis, golf equipment handling, shoe cleaning, welcome events, commemorative gifts and a dedicated dinner hosted by the accompanying PGA professional.

Among the featured itineraries is a 12-day voyage aboard EUROPA from Mallorca to Tenerife, departing on 25 October 2027. Accompanied by Stefan Quirmbach, President of the PGA of Germany, the cruise combines golf in southern Spain, North Africa and La Gomera, with four selected courses included in the optional golf package.

A second highlighted itinerary departs Colombo for Singapore, offering a 12-day voyage through Sri Lanka and Malaysia under the guidance of former professional golfer and Golf Team Germany coach André Sallmann. Guests will have the opportunity to play on courses overlooking the Indian Ocean, tropical rainforest layouts and championship venues designed by internationally recognised golf architects.

The expanded programme reflects Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' strategy of combining specialist interest travel with its luxury cruise product, allowing guests to integrate professional golf experiences into voyages while retaining the flexibility to customise activities according to their individual preferences.
