Carnival Corporation has completed the expansion of the pier at its exclusive destination, Celebration Key, on Grand Bahama Island, significantly increasing the facility's capacity ahead of schedule. The project adds two new berths to the original two that entered service with the destination in July 2025, allowing up to four cruise ships to berth simultaneously and accommodating more than 13,000 guests in a single day. The expansion is expected to increase operational flexibility while supporting ~200 additional ship calls and 700,000 extra guest visits annually.

The enlarged pier strengthens Celebration Key's position within Carnival Corporation's Caribbean deployment strategy. Since opening, the destination has become a regular port of call for 20 Carnival Cruise Line ships sailing from 10 U.S. homeports. Beginning in September 2026, 3- and 4-ship operating days are expected to become routine, while Princess Cruises and AIDA Cruises are also scheduled to begin calls later in the year, expanding the destination's role across the corporation's portfolio of cruise brands.

Josh Weinstein, Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation, stated that Celebration Key has become a central element of the company's Paradise Collection and indicated that the early completion of the pier extension will allow the corporation to respond more effectively to strong demand while welcoming larger numbers of guests to the Bahamian destination sooner than originally planned.

The Bahamian government also welcomed the expansion. Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Tourism, noted that the investment demonstrates continued confidence in Grand Bahama and the country's tourism sector, adding that projects of this scale are expected to generate employment opportunities, support local businesses and provide long-term economic benefits for residents. Ginger Moxey, Minister for Grand Bahama, similarly described the development as an investment in the island's economy, highlighting the opportunities created for entrepreneurs, small businesses and communities that rely on tourism.

Celebration Key is expected to welcome ~2.5 million guests by its first anniversary on July 19th, 2026. With the expanded pier now operational, annual visitation is projected to increase to around 3.5 million during the destination's second year. According to an economic impact assessment by Tourism Economics, the development, construction and ongoing operation of Celebration Key are forecast to generate more than 2,500 direct jobs in The Bahamas, contribute ~US$3.2 billion in government revenue and add an estimated US$9.7 billion to the country's gross domestic product over the next two decades.
