Malaysian outbound travel company Golden Destinations has announced the charter of Star Voyager from StarCruises for a series of exclusive voyages from Port Klang to Thailand during the December 2026 school holiday period. The programme will be marketed exclusively through the company's cruise division, GD World Cruises, and is aimed primarily at family travellers and corporate incentive groups.
The charter operation will comprise five departures between 5 and 22 December 2026, offering a choice of two- and 3-night itineraries featuring calls at Phuket and Krabi. The deployment forms part of Golden Destinations' continuing expansion following its April 2026 public offering, which raised RM90 million (~US$22 million) to support regional growth, recruitment and investment in information technology systems.
Mita Lim, Managing Director of Golden Destinations Group, stated that the charter programme has been developed to provide travellers with a convenient year-end holiday combining accessible departures from Port Klang, competitive value and visits to popular destinations in southern Thailand.
Michael Goh, President of StarDream Cruises, noted that Golden Destinations has been a long-standing travel partner and indicated that its experience in developing cruise holidays and its understanding of the Malaysian market would help introduce the Star Voyager charter programme to a broader audience seeking short holiday cruises from Port Klang.
The programme includes three 3-night Phuket–Krabi sailings departing on 5, 8 and 22 December, together with a 2-night Krabi cruise departing on December 18th and a 2-night Phuket itinerary departing on December 20th.
Passengers travelling aboard Star Voyager will have access to the vessel's accommodation, international dining venues, including certified halal options, and a range of onboard entertainment and leisure facilities. Bookings are available through Golden Destinations' nationwide network of authorised travel partners and agents.
