HAL-Holland America Line has completed a series of enhancements at its private Caribbean destination, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, ahead of the island’s 30th anniversary in 2027. The upgrades are being introduced as part of a yearlong programme leading up to the milestone and include new dining facilities, an exclusive Beach Club, upgraded cabanas and refreshed outdoor areas.
One of the main additions is a new food pavilion serving an island-inspired barbecue menu. The destination has also introduced a Beach Club offering guests a dedicated area for dining and relaxation. Other improvements include renovated bars and eateries, upgraded cabanas, refreshed clamshells and daybeds, additional beach chairs and canopy loungers for two. Four pickleball courts, introduced last season, provide another recreational option.
Holland America Line President Beth Bodensteiner said the improvements were designed to expand the guest experience while retaining the features that have made Half Moon Cay a popular port of call. She also noted that the new Beach Club is scheduled to welcome its first visitors in October, as the cruise line continues its investment in the destination.
The Beach Club combines Holland America Line’s blue, orange and cream colour palette with natural materials and open-air spaces. Day passes are scheduled to become available for booking in early October. Guests purchasing access will receive priority tendering between the ship and the island, along with dedicated waiter service, all-inclusive alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, beach accessories and specialty food and beverage options.
Elsewhere on the island, the new food pavilion will serve a complimentary menu available exclusively at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, while existing bars and dining venues are undergoing renovations. The beach area has also been expanded with additional daybeds, upgraded canopy loungers and more beach chairs. The four pickleball courts add a further recreational facility to the destination.
Holland America Line is also promoting its 2026 Caribbean programme through its Save on Sunshine offer, which provides discounts of up to 50% on cruise fares and free fares for children on selected sailings.
The 2026 holiday-season itineraries range from 7-day Caribbean cruises to longer voyages combining established destinations with less frequently visited islands, historic ports and itineraries incorporating the Panama Canal. The programme forms part of Holland America Line’s broader Caribbean deployment for the 2026–2027 season, as the company continues to expand the guest experience at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay ahead of its 30th anniversary in 2027.
