ALMACO Group has completed a modernization project aboard RCI-Royal Caribbean’s vessel Harmony of the Seas during a 44-day scheduled drydock refurbishment at Navantia Shipyard in Cádiz, Spain.
The work, completed in May 2026, included the addition of new cabin spaces and the conversion of existing public spaces into staterooms.
A new forward cabin block comprises 7 panoramic suites and 21 staterooms. In addition, sections of the 2-deck Wonderland restaurant were converted into 29 new staterooms. A noise-reduction ceiling was also installed in the Music Hall, located below the new cabin area.
Project preparation took ~7 months and covered design and engineering, procurement, scheduling and coordination with Royal Caribbean, Navantia and other contractors. Harmony of the Seas arrived in Cádiz in April for the scheduled drydock period.
ALMACO deployed up to 240 personnel during the execution phase and coordinated the delivery of ~86 TEUs of materials to the Spanish shipyard. The scope was completed through coordination between ALMACO, the shipyard, the shipowner and other project partners within the scheduled drydock period.
