HAL-Holland America Line has opened bookings for five additional voyages aboard Oosterdam following the ship’s planned transformation under Holland America Evolution, the largest fleet investment in the company’s 153-year history. The new sailings will begin on October 31st, 2027, following an earlier-than-planned start to the ship’s refurbishment programme in response to demand for the upgraded vessel.

The first sailing after the transformation will be a 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise departing from Civitavecchia, the port serving Rome, and ending in Trieste, Italy. The itinerary will include destinations in Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia, with opportunities to visit Pompeii, Sicily, the Greek island of Corfu, the Bay of Kotor and Croatia’s Adriatic coast. The ship’s transformation will take place in Marseille, France.

Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said the additional departures would allow guests to experience Oosterdam soon after its return to service. She noted that the vessel would be the first ship to emerge from Holland America Evolution, a programme intended to extend selected features of the line’s Pinnacle Class ships to more of the fleet while introducing new accommodation categories and public spaces.

The modernisation will introduce several new stateroom and suite categories, including Solo Verandahs, forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, Vista Suites and a redesigned Pinnacle Suite. Public areas will also be updated, with the addition of the Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar. Refurbished accommodation and shared spaces will complement the line’s existing onboard service and itinerary offering.

Following the initial 10-day Adriatic Antiquities voyage, Oosterdam will operate 4 further sailings carrying the ship from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean.

An 11-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise, departing Trieste on November 10th, 2027, will visit Croatia, the Greek Isles and Istanbul before ending in Piraeus, Greece. This will be followed by a 7-day Mediterranean Splendor voyage departing Piraeus on November 21st and arriving in Barcelona, Spain.

On November 28th, the ship will begin a 13-day Cultural Crossing itinerary from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with calls in Spain and Gibraltar. The programme will conclude with an 11-day Caribbean cruise departing Fort Lauderdale on December 11th, 2027, and returning to the same port.

The five voyages will provide the first opportunities for guests to sail aboard Oosterdam following its Evolution refurbishment, while allowing the ship to resume operations across Mediterranean, transatlantic and Caribbean itineraries.
