ms Oosterdam deck plans

MS Oosterdam (2003-built, last refurbished in April 2025) is the second of four Vista-class Holland America Line ships, with sisterships ms Noordam, ms Westerdam, ms Zuiderdam, as well as the P&O Cruises ship Arcadia. The name “Oosterdam” represents the eastern point of the compass in Dutch.

The Oosterdam deck plan includes 1012 staterooms for 2024 passengers (maximum capacity 2429), served by 820 crew. The vessel has 11 passenger decks (7 with cabins), 13 lounges and bars, 3 swimming pools (one with a retractable glass roof), 5 outdoor Jacuzzis and 14 elevators (4 are scenic glass-walled lifts).

In 2016, Holland America Line updated MS Oosterdam’s enrichment, entertainment and children’s programming, replacing the “Dancing With the Stars” shows with “BBC Earth” content.

• The ship’s theatre hosts daily expert lectures, presentations, a nature-themed game show and BBC Earth screenings with introductions from the crews who filmed the series. A signature evening concert is based on the “Frozen Planet” program (polar regions-themed), presented as a multimedia show with live musicians.
• The children’s club features an explorer trail, workshops (including journalism and filming), and fact-based programs (animals, dinosaurs).
• Holland America’s themed cruises include access to BBC Earth content creators, who share behind-the-scenes stories and media. Children can also participate in hands-on filming workshops.

(new) Room Service Menu

Since December 2016, Holland America Oosterdam has offered an updated room service menu featuring a mix of complimentary Continental breakfast items, à la carte breakfast options, and sample dishes from onboard specialty restaurants (Pinnacle Grill, Tamarind, Dive-In Burgers).

• Complimentary starters, entrees, sandwiches and desserts are available 24 hours a day.
• Pinnacle and Neptune Suite guests receive à la carte breakfast and specialty beverages free of charge.
• The Tamarind menu offers Seafood, Vegetarian and Land & Sea bento boxes, each priced at USD 9.75.
• The Dive-In menu includes several burgers served with fries, each priced at USD 4.95.
• The Pinnacle Grill menu features a steak dish for USD 15 and lobster for USD 20.
• For breakfast, a complimentary sample item is a scrambled egg dish served with hash browns and breakfast meats. Other featured dishes include steak and eggs (USD 9.50), smoked salmon benedict (USD 7.50) and a fruit smoothie with Greek yoghurt (USD 4.95).
• A separate kids’ menu (free of charge) offers chicken tenders, mac & cheese, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and additional snacks.
