Royal Caribbean 'Icon Class'

The next class of Royal Caribbean ship will be LNG-powered (by liquefied natural gas) and introduce the use of fuel cell technology to considerably reduce greenhouse gas emissions. According to the company, the move marks a new era in shipbuilding.

The new cruise ship class is under the project name "ICON”, with two units expected to be delivered (in 2022 and 2024) by the shipbuilding company Mayer Turku Oy (Turku Finland).
