Saga Sapphire passengers can take a ‘sneak peak’ at Saga Cruises new ship which is still under construction at Meyer Werft shipyard Papenburg, close to Hamburg.

The new 6-night Easter Getaway 2018 cruise includes a tour of the shipyard to enable guests to see the progress of the new ship, Spirit of Discovery, and learn about its construction and design.

Saga guests’ thoughts and recommendations were taken into account during the ship’s design process and the tour again highlights Saga’s wish for guests to be connected to the whole new-build process.

The ship will carry fewer than 1,000 guests and include a choice of specialty restaurants, a selection of bars, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a library, an observation lounge and Saga’s hallmark Britannia Lounge.

The Easter Getaway sailings also features calls to Falmouth, on the Cornish coast, and St Peter Port, in Guernsey, before cruising to the historic Hanseatic city of Bremen for the exciting tour of the Meyer Werft shipyard.

Six nights from GBP 968 departing from Southampton on March 28, 2018 - price includes UK travel package to and from Portsmouth, all meals and entertainment, choice of table wines at lunch and dinner, afternoon tea, 24-hour room service, welcome cocktail party, unlimited tea and coffee in selected venues, free Wi-Fi internet, all onboard gratuities, porterage, free shuttle bus to the nearest town centre (whenever possible and when the ship is berthed more than 500 yards away), optional travel insurance and additional cancellation rights, or a discount if the passenger has own insurance.
