The official steel-cutting ceremony for the first of two Costa Cruises newbuilds to be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) was held on Wedesday, September 13, at Meyer Turku shipyard, Finland.
The 183 900 GT ship will set sail in October 2019. A sister ship follows in 2021. Newbuild NB-1394 will be named Costa Smeralda. Costa Smeralda will sail in Western Mediterranean.
