Royal Caribbean Offers Self-Disembarkation

   October 25, 2017 ,   Cruise Industry

On the last morning of guests' Royal Caribbean cruise, the line provides an option for those who wish to carry their own luggage off the vessel that is referred to as express departure, self assist, or self disembarkation.

The option provides cruisers with a way to depart the ship at their leisure. Those who elect to carry their own luggage off the cruise ship will be required to take the luggage from their room, and take it all the way off the vessel and through customs.

Unlike passengers who have luggage transported for them from the stateroom, guests who carry off their luggage can leave as soon as the cruise ship is cleared by local customs.

Royal Caribbean passengers may indicate that they wish to use Express Departure via registering with Guest Relations.

Once they commit to carrying their own luggage off the ship, as well as the time window to leave their luggage outside the stateroom door for it to be delivered for them, they must stick with taking their own luggage off the ship.
