Cruise Ship Calls Cancelled Due to Weather Forecast

Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre announced that both Norwegian Escape and Oceania Sirena had cancelled their visits to Bermuda due to weather forecast.

Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre posted that Norwegian Escape had cancelled call to Bermuda next week (Wednesday, September 12) due to forecasted weather. Sirena had also cancelled call to Bermuda on the same day, September 12, due to impending weather.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) revealed in a statement that the safety and security of their guests and crew was always their top priority. Due to Eastern Atlantic's Hurricane Florence they had modified the itinerary of Norwegian Escape from New York City September 9.

In order to avoid the storm’s path, the cruise ship will not call in Bermuda. NCL Escape will instead visit Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau

The cancellations occured as Hurricane Florence continued to swirl in the Atlantic. The Ministry of National Security said that EMO (Emergency Measures Organisation) was keeping an eye on the storm and they anticipated meeting again on Monday, September 10.
