The first of 3 Ritz-Carlton ships touched the water for the first time on Tuesday, October 9, at an official float out ceremony at Barreras Shipyard (Vigo, Spain).

The float out signifies that workers have almost completed the exterior construction of the new ship. The next steps are working on the interior and sea trials will eventually take place to test the seaworthiness of the vessel. It is due to be delivered in 2019 and to make its maiden voyage February 2020.

The 298-passenger Ritz-Carlton Yacht 1 will be bestowed with a name during a christening ceremony to be held in December 2018.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht will spend a maiden season in the Caribbean, to be followed by the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Canada and New England, before returning to Caribbean for the winter.
