A new offering from Windstar and travel personalization platform Utrip was unveiled that supports line’s strength of bringing passengers into small ports of call in order to discover authentic experiences celebrating the cultures and communities of each destination.

The brand new trip-planning software enhances the already highly-customized shore experience of Windstar. Interactive filters let passengers dial up or down their preferences in 7 key areas: adventure, arts and culture, food and wine, history, outdoors, relaxation, shopping. The tool then offers tailored activities in each port, serving up suggestions which best match the interests of travellers. The software acts as local resource, serving up restaurants, museums, parks, attractions and more to plan one’s dream cruise vacation.

6 itineraries are available on the platform during a 6-month pilot program, with plans to expand that are based on passenger feedback and functionality. The system automatically sorts via thousands of options at the button click, enabling guests to plan trips and make the most of the ashore time.

Currently available on select cruises in Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, the trip planning platform includes cruise ports like Bangkok, Malaga and San Juan.

The platform serves up photos, maps, descriptions, menus and more and lets vacationers create their ‘wish list’ of activities to refer back to. In addition, the favorites can be shared with family, friends and fellow cruisers via email and social media.
