Carnival Ship Loses Lifeboat in Gulf of Mexico

The Carnival Dream cruise ship lost a lifeboat that broke off davits and fell into the water while the vessel was underway in the Gulf of Mexico on December 30.

The accident did not affect the itinerary of the ship. The lifeboat was checked but could not be hoisted back to the place, and was left drifting. Many passengers took photos of the damaged lifeboat.

At the time of the accident, Carnival Dream was sailing on a 7-day roundtrip Western Caribbean cruise from New Orleans, Louisiana.
