The latest addition to the fleet of Marella Cruises, Marella Explorer 2, is already on the blocks in Cadiz as her refurbishment begins.

The adult-only vessel is due to leave the port on March 27, 2019, before setting sail on her first sailing with paying customers around the Mediterranean, leaving from Palma de Mallorca on April 2.

  • With just 8 weeks in dry dock before taking to the seas, around 1,520 people, from contractors, partners, and the team of Marella Cruises, will provide over 190,000 man hours to deliver a multi-million-pound makeover.
  • 43 square kilometers of carpet is to be laid, along with over 70 kilometers of network cabling and 640 wi-fi access points.
  • 9.5 tonnes of Marella Cruises-branded items, including uniform and around 1,000 show team costumes are now en route to Spain.
  • Tens of thousands of liters of paint, mile-upon-mile of fabric, and 2.9 kilometers of bathroom trims will go into giving the ship a facelift.
