For the first time ever, Port Lincoln is due to welcome 2 cruise ships at once on Wednesday, February 20.

Pacific Jewel and CMV Astor will dock at the port on February 20, a day that according to Tourism Minister David Ridgway will be a "very busy time for the region".

The Miniter said that never before had they seen so many cruise vessels come to South Australia in a single month.

A total of 36 ships, featuring a capacity of 67,800 cruise passengers, will dock in SA ports during February.

According to Janet Grocke, Port Lincoln council community services manager, the port city was prepared to cope with the passengers' number, and the combined guest numbers were similar to Golden Princess which docked in January.
