A-Rosa River Cruises signed a shipbuilding contract with Concordia Damen for a new riverboat in the E-Motion series (battery-powered). The newbuild is planned for delivery in 2021-Q1 and to operate northern Rhine River cruises, including on itineraries from homeport Cologne to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Bruges, and Rotterdam.
The ship Arosa Emotion will have 140 staterooms, including double-occupancy cabins (sized 21 m2 / 225 ft2) with a step-out balcony and separate living-sleeping area. Also available will be larger-sized family cabins (28 m2 / 300 ft2). The Sun Deck will be fitted with a large swimming pool (for adults) plus a smaller and shallow kids pool. A separate kids' eating area will be offered in the Dining Room Restaurant so young passengers can dine with friends.
For adults, in addition to a high-quality restaurant serving 5-course meals, there will be a wellness and spa area with treatment rooms, an ice grotto, heat bench, sauna, and whirlpool.
The staff will benefit from their own generous cabins along with, a first for the line, their own relaxation area.
