Holland America is expanding the functionality of the line's popular browser-based Navigator tool into a free, user-friendly app for mobile phones and tablets which can be used onboard.

iPhone and Android users are now able to download the Navigator app from iTunes App and Google Play stores.

Using Navigator, passengers can plan daily activities, book shore excursions, check their account statement, make dining reservations, view restaurant menus and spa treatments, and more. The chat function is expected to be the most popular feature, enabling guests to communicate with each other for free while onboard.

With Navigator, passengers are also able to select and save activities in order to personalize the daily schedule. The activities appear alongside booked shore excursions and dining reservations, keeping everything easily accessible in just one place. Notifications are easily set up to send reminders and alerts for messages, reservations, and more.

Those who forget to download the app before embarking can download it once onboard free of charge without using internet minutes.

Holland America Line is already extending the app offerings for both tablets and mobile phones to offer pre-voyage access so travellers can review available services as well as check out the interactive fleet map at any time prior to boarding the ship.
