Royal Caribbean Brings 300,000 Passengers to Malaysia

Royal Caribbean is expected to bring around 300,000 cruise passengers to Malaysian shores in 2019.

The latest to make her maiden call at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal, Pulau Penang Island (Georgetown, Malaysia) was Spectrum of the Seas that accommodates 5,622 passengers.

Spectrum of the Seas saw 3 departures from Singapore – a 3-night voyage to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) on May 18, a 4-night journey to Penang on May 21, and a 9-night one-way trip from Singapore to Shanghai on May 25, visiting Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Hong Kong on May 25.

Spectrum of the Seas alone brought in more than 12,000 passengers to Malaysia on her 3 calls this year. The arrival of the ship marked the start of the line's Double Quantum year in the region that will also welcome sistership Quantum of the Seas that will bring 4,905 cruisers in November 2019. She will have a 6-month season with a total of 34 departures.
