Passenger Medevaced from Celebrity Cruises Ship in New York Harbor

Coast Guard officer has helped rescue a 61-year-old female passenger with chest pains from a Celebrity Cruises ship in New York Harbor Sunday afternoon, May 26.

According to the news release, Watchstanders at Coast Guard NY command centre received a notification at about 4:20 p.m., stating the lady needed medical attention onboard the Maltese-flagged Celebrity Summit.

The CG command centre coordinated with the New York City Fire Department in order to safely remove the traveller.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., the woman was transferred from the vessel and taken to awaiting emergency medical services at Station NY for transfer to Staten Island University Hospital.

The current medical condition of the patient is unknown.
