Princess Cruises announced that its newest liners - Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess - will feature "Phantom Bridge" - industry's (and world's) first game combining physical and digital elements for the ultimate escape room.

The company said that its newest attraction (part of the "Discovery at SEA" onboard enrichment program) will offer the "exclusive opportunity to live a real-world, gamified experience with more than 700 different outcomes for the ultimate adventure." Partnering with Farbound, the leader in gamified real-life experiences, to deliver the unprecedented technology and the world's first interactive Mediascape Room further solidified Princess' commitment to sharing innovative and distinctive offerings.

On the Phantom Bridge, cruisers will face immersive environments as they race to solve puzzles as well as travel to endangered time periods. The entire cruise ship will respond to guest actions, enveloping them in the story.

The range of activities offered by Phantom Bridge includes:

  • Blends the physical with digital via immersive effects – players can captain the cruise ship, turn the physical wheel, and watch as the simulation view changes. Sound, lighting, and digital features disguised as physical are combined to create a realistic experience. Players beware as they will never know when a new item could appear and be the key to the next puzzle.
  • Uncover the clues to solve the mystery – touch screen surfaces, hidden physical elements, and projection mapping bring the environment to life. Players race to uncover clues and solve puzzles that transport them to the following endangered time period.
  • Families can play together – the Phantom Bridge tailors the unique experience to players of all ages and physical abilities so kids, parents, and grandparents can play together. Over 700 outcomes are possible, which means that players can come back again since it is never the same adventure.

Phantom Bridge will debut on Sky Princess in 2019, followed by the sistership Enchanted (2020 summer). Phantom Bridge is located in the Experience Center (deck 18). The new experience lasts 23 min and room's max capacity is 6 people.

For families looking for fun and enriching experiences, Princess has partnered with Discovery Inc. in order to create Discovery at SEA programming which brings to life destinations and fan-favorite Discovery and Animal Planet shows. Passengers can choose from family-friendly shore trips and onboard activities such as Stargazing at Sea. Young cruisers, 17 and under, will enjoy the recently revamped Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Centers.
