Flooding in Venice Causes Cruise Ship Itinerary Changes

   November 17, 2019 ,   Cruise Industry

Record flooding in Venice Italy is still wreaking havoc all over the port city, also preventing cruise liners from docking in downtown.

NCL's Norwegian Spirit ship posted two letters from the company informing passengers of the changes in the itinerary. A visit to Argostoli and an overnight in Venice have been replaced with a sea day and an overnight stay in Ravenna. A visit to Dubrovnik has also been pushed back.

The cruise terminal is being used as a shelter.

MSC Cruises rerouted two ships (Sinfonia and Magnifica) to Trieste instead of Venice - on November 16 and 17. Venice Cruise Terminal is expected to re-open November 21.
