Six passengers on an NCL-Norwegian cruise liner docked in Los Angeles CA were with Norovirus symptoms on Sunday, November 24. Norwegian Joy docked at Port Los Angeles at ~6 am on the return leg of a Panama Canal cruise. All the 6 passengers wanted medical assessment for an "unspecified and apparently non-life threatening illness," LA Fire Department announced.
A statement by NCL said that a few guests onboard had experienced a stomach-related illness. To mitigate any impact of the rare occurrence, the cruise company had implemented "stringent sanitation procedures." Of the 6 travelers treated, 4 were taken to hospitals. Norwegian Joy departed from PortMiami on a 16-day repositioning cruise from Florida to California on November 8, with call ports Great Stirrup Cay, Cartagena, Puerto Quetzal, Acapulco, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas.
