Laundry Fire Extinguished on Azamara Pursuit

(CruiseMapper emailed accident report by William Boswell) On the Azamara Pursuit, a laundry fire on February 16, 2020, resulted in a Bravo, Bravo, Bravo announcement followed about 20 minutes later by a Kilo, Kilo, Kilo announcement.

Baseboard emergency lights were turned on, fire doors were closed and cabin crew prepared to search each room and mark it as Evacuated.

The fire was extinguished and the smoke smell disappeared after ventilation by opening veranda and hall doors.

At the time of the accident, the ship was on a 15-day, one-way cruise from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires, and en-route from the Falklands (UK) to Uruguay.
