Royal Caribbean's announcement comes weeks after the company revealed they would be sending one of their Celebrity Cruises liners on a similar humanitarian trip, hosting a series of "Cruising for Heroes" journeys for volunteers and families of California veterans, firefighters, and other first responders throughout March-April 2020. Celebrity Millennium will be heading to the US West Coast for the complimentary voyage.

Royal Caribbean is working with state-based volunteer agencies in Australia in order to notify and encourage eligible volunteers to register for the free cruise.
