The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) partnered with tour operators, the Ministry of Health, and other parties in order to put strict safety measures in place for the voyages.

King Abdullah Port is situated on the Red Sea coast, and is the newest commercial port in Saudi Arabia, in close proximity to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah (from Jeddah) and Yanbu al-Bahr.
