AmaWaterways suspends remaining 2020 river cruise season

   October 21, 2020 ,   Cruise Industry

AmaWaterways announced the suspension of its remaining river cruise season for 2020.

The suspension will see all of the company’s remaining 2020 operations canceled, of which scheduled departures in Europe, Asia and Africa. The cancellation will not affect the chartered river cruises on the Rhine (in operation since July 2020) with AmaStella.

The suspension is a result of the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, which led to the global suspension of cruising and is still in operation for many lines.

AmaWaterways will offer guests booked onto a canceled sailing a future cruise credit (FCC). The FCC will equal 115% of the original value, allowing customers to rebook onto a river voyage in Europe, Asia or Africa, as well as upgrade their stateroom or sailing.

Passengers will have until December 31, 2022, to use the credit.

As part of its 2021 program, AmaWaterways introduces 2 new ships on Rhine River and 5 new itineraries and land tours throughout Europe.

The company will also return to Nile River aboard its newly designed AmaDahlia for "Secrets of Egypt and The Nile" itineraries.
