AmaStella Wiki

The vessel was officially christened on June 14, 2016, in Vilshofen. The ship's godmother was Mrs. Carole Smethurst, owner of Bicton Travel (a Perth, Australia-based travel agency). The naming ceremony was attended by AmaWaterways co-founders Kristin Karst and Rudi Schreiner, along with shipbuilders, crew members, local officials, travel agents, and media representatives. The following day, on June 15, sistership AmaViola was also christened in Vilshofen.

APT AmaStella is one of the company's newest river cruise ships, belonging to the modified Concerto-class. Her sisterships include AmaKristina (2016), AmaLea (2018), AmaLucia (2021), AmaMora (2019), AmaSiena (2020), AmaSofia (2026), and AmaViola (2016). This latest generation of APT riverboats introduces the innovative "Twin Balcony" stateroom concept, which combines a traditional French balcony with a second, covered step-out veranda for all-weather use. Each ship in this class is powered by two Caterpillar marine diesel engines (model "C32 DITA ACERT" V-12), delivering a combined power output of 1900 kW / 2550 HP.

AmaStella's construction (hull and superstructure, ENI number 07002031) took place at the Vahali Shipyard in Zasavica (Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia). The Dutch shipbuilding company Scheepswerf En Machinefabriek Vahali BV, founded in 1923, operates shipyards in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and the Netherlands (Gendt). Vahali Shipyard Zasavica was officially opened in 2013. Following hull construction in Serbia, AmaStella was towed to the Vahali shipyard in Gendt, Holland, for final outfitting.
