AmaReina

The 2014-built AmaReina cruises along the Rhine River, departing from the homeports of Basel and Amsterdam. Her sistership, AmaCerto, shares the same advanced design featuring exclusive Twin Balcony staterooms.

Cabins

The majority of AmaReina’s staterooms feature Twin Balconies and offer a generous size of 235 ft². The ship has a total of 85 cabins, including 5 Suites, 51 Twin Balcony rooms, 10 French Balcony staterooms, and 19 with non-opening windows, across 9 cabin grades.

Shipboard Facilities

Dining venues include Verde (main restaurant), Bella Cucina (Italian cuisine), Chef’s Table (gourmet tasting menu), Wine Bar (private events), and the Sun Deck for alfresco meals. Guests can enjoy culinary excellence from the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs either in the Chef’s Table or main dining room. On select days, outdoor lunches are served on the Sun Deck. AmaReina is known for gourmet cuisine and complimentary wines.

Additional public spaces include the Observation Lounge with an al fresco Teak Front Deck, the Main Lounge & Bar, the Reina Atrium (lobby), Fireside Library, Gift Shop, Fitness Center, Sauna, and a top-deck area featuring a pool with a swim-up bar, whirlpool, sundeck loungers, shaded seating, giant chess, putting green, and a walking track. A glass elevator serves the Cello and Violin decks.

All AmaReina cruise fares include complimentary Internet and Wi-Fi, shore excursions (including bike tours), ground transfers, live evening entertainment by local performers, enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee and tea station, and daily replenished bottled water.

Fares are per person, based on double occupancy. Cruise prices are indicative and may vary based on promotional offers, group bookings, discounts, or last-minute deals. AmaWaterways also offers discounted airfare packages with major airlines, without charging Flight Deviation fees.

River Cruise Itineraries

Below is a list of AmaReina’s themed river cruise itineraries:

• Visited countries: France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland
• “ENCHANTING RHINE” – a 13-day itinerary (7 days cruising) from Amsterdam to Zurich (disembarking in Basel), and reverse from Zurich to Amsterdam. The package includes 4 optional and 8 complimentary shore excursions, plus 2-night stays in Zurich and Lucerne.
• Holiday-themed “Christmas Markets” cruises visit festive markets in Cologne, Rüdesheim, Speyer, Strasbourg, Breisach, Lucerne, and Zurich, including 2 nights in both Zurich and Lucerne.
• Special “Wine Cruises” are also offered, featuring guest lectures by renowned wine connoisseurs.

The APT AmaReina is the sixth vessel in AmaWaterways’ newest generation of Concerto-class river cruise ships, alongside sisterships AmaBella, AmaCerto, AmaReina, AmaSerena, AmaSonata, AmaVerde, and AmaVenita. This new APT riverboat design features the signature "Twin Balcony" accommodations concept, combining a classic French balcony with a second covered step-out veranda for use in all weather conditions.

Each of these riverboats is powered by two "Caterpillar" marine diesel engines (model "C32 DITA ACERT" V-12), delivering a combined output of 1900 kW / 2550 HP.

The vessel's hull and superstructure were constructed at the Vahali Shipyard in Belgrade, Serbia. The Dutch shipbuilding company Scheepswerf En Machinefabriek Vahali BV, founded in 1923, operates shipyards in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and the Netherlands (Gendt). Vahali Shipyard Zasavica officially opened in 2013. Following her construction in Serbia, AmaReina was towed to Gendt, Holland, for final outfitting at Scheepswerf Vahali.

AmaReina was launched on April 4, 2014, and christened in Vilshofen, Germany, by Princess von Hohenzollern (born Heide Hansen), owner of “Burg Namedy” in Andernach—a moated castle on the Rhine River used for corporate events, conferences, and various private celebrations.

All AmaWaterways ships offer complimentary bicycles (stored on the sundeck) for use during shore excursions and tours at each port of call.
