AmaSerena Wiki

The APT AmaSerena boat (ENI number 07002014) is the seventh vessel in the newest generation of AmaWaterways' Concerto-class river cruise ships, alongside her sisterships AmaBella, AmaCerto, AmaPrima, AmaReina, AmaSonata, AmaVerde, and AmaVenita. This modern river cruise vessel features the signature "Twin Balcony" design, which combines a French balcony with a second covered step-out veranda for use in all weather conditions. Each of these riverboats is powered by two Caterpillar marine diesel engines (model C32 DITA ACERT, V-12), with a total output of 1900 kW / 2550 HP.

The ship's hull and superstructure were constructed at the Vahali Shipyard in Belgrade, Serbia. Vahali Shipyard, a Dutch shipbuilding company founded in 1923, operates facilities in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and the Netherlands (Gendt). The Zasavica yard opened in 2013. After construction in Serbia, AmaSerena was towed to the Vahali shipyard in Gendt, Holland, for final outfitting.

AmaSerena was christened on August 4, 2015, in Vilshofen, Germany. The vessel’s godmother is Mrs. Kristin Karst, wife of AmaWaterways President and CEO Mr. Rudi Schreiner.

The ship’s namesake is the Costa Serena, an ocean cruise ship built in 2007.

All AmaWaterways ships offer complimentary bicycles (stored on the sundeck) for use during shore excursions and tours at each port along the itinerary.
