The 2010-built AmaBella ship cruises on the Danube River, with departures from Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, and Vilshofen (Passau).

Shipboard Facilities

AmaBella offers a variety of dining options that are among the best in the river cruise industry: Verde (main dining room), Bella Cucina (Italian restaurant), Chef’s Table (special tasting menu), Wine Bar (private setting), and alfresco dining on the Sun Deck. The Erlebnis Chef’s Table Restaurant allows guests to watch the chef prepare a gourmet tasting menu. Casual lunches are available in the Main Lounge and, on select days, outdoors on the Sun Deck.

The Sun Deck also features lounge chairs, a putting green, heated pool and Jacuzzi, giant chess board, and a walking track. The Violin Deck houses Erlebnis Chef’s Table, the Observation Lounge, Main Lounge & Bar, Wine Bar, Gift Shop, Fireside Library, gym, sauna, and Hair Salon. An additional Wine Bar is located on the Cello Deck, along with the Bella Cucina and Verde restaurants.

The ship has one passenger elevator connecting select decks.

All AmaWaterways ships offer complimentary bicycles, stored on the sundeck, for use during shore excursions and tours at each port along the cruise itinerary.

AmaBella cruise fares include complimentary Internet (with Wi-Fi), guided tours and excursions (including by bicycle), ground transfers, live evening entertainment by local performers, enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee and tea service, and daily replenished bottled water.

• "MELODIES OF THE DANUBE" – A 10-day itinerary (7-night cruise) from Budapest to Prague/Munich, visiting Hungary, Austria, and Germany.
• "THE ROMANTIC DANUBE" – A 12-day reverse itinerary from Prague to Budapest, including a 2-night luxury hotel stay in Prague. The cruise includes 7 optional and 10 complimentary land excursions, with an additional 3-night pre- or post-cruise hotel package in Prague or Munich.
• "TULIP TIME" – A 7-day round-trip river cruise from Amsterdam through Belgium and Holland, featuring 3 optional and 7 complimentary shore excursions.
• "Christmas Time" and "Christmas on the Danube" – Holiday-themed Christmas Markets cruises between Prague and Budapest, visiting Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, and Hungary.

The APT AmaBella was the first of the newest generation of AMA river cruise ships in the Concerto-class, followed by her sister ships AmaCerto, AmaPrima, AmaReina, AmaSerena, AmaSonata, AmaVerde, and AmaVenita. This new APT riverboat design introduced the innovative “Twin Balcony” stateroom concept, which combines a traditional French balcony with a second, covered open-air veranda for all-weather use.

Each of these riverboats is powered by two Caterpillar marine diesel engines (model "C32 DITA ACERT" V-12) with a total power output of 1900 kW / 2550 HP.

The vessel’s construction, including the hull and superstructure, was completed at the Vahali Shipyard in Belgrade, Serbia. Founded in 1923, the Dutch shipbuilding company Scheepswerf En Machinefabriek Vahali BV operates shipyards in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and in the Netherlands (Gendt). The Vahali Shipyard in Zasavica was officially opened in 2013. After the initial construction phase in Serbia, AmaBella was towed to the Netherlands for final outfitting at Scheepswerf Vahali in Gendt.
